For the last couple of years, local emcee Tigga T, aka Tamba McCarthy, has been working tirelessly to get his music heard. Since 2011, he’s released three Mixtapes: Fundamentals (2011), Visionary (2012) and African Boi (2012), and has shot several videos for songs on each release.

With each mixtape, he’s gradually gotten a little better, and has managed to incorporate more eclectic elements. His latest mixtape, African Boi, a reference to his West Africa origins, shows off some world beat flair, along with dancehall and Afro-pop, while still keeping one foot solidly planted in classic hip-hop. These elements are demonstrated best on his new video “Cross Ova”.
