Opa! San Jose’s Greek community—along with baklava lovers of all backgrounds—are invited to enjoy the all things Greek at his annual Mediterranean celebration. Spanakopita, tyropites, moussaka and loukoumades are just a few of the hard-to-pronounce but easy-to-eat authentic dishes made from generations-old family recipes. The festival also features traditional music, dance and Greek garb. The party begins Friday at 5pm and at 11am on Saturday and Sunday. For almost 50 years now, on the weekend following Memorial Day, this quiet Rose Garden area neighborhood transforms into a raucous celebration of all things Greek. The San Jose Greek Festival is fun for the whole family and features live music, award-winning dance groups and some of the most authentic festival food around.
