Being raised by English parents in Wisconsin has given Reynolds plenty of material to draw upon while onstage. Some of his funniest lines come at his father’s expense. “My father split his life between a small town in England and a small town in Wisconsin,” he cracks. “It’s created the weirdest accent of all time … he sounds like a South African blood diamond trader.”

Raised in a trailer park in Alabama, Slay likes to poke fun at his experience of growing up poor, his many shitty restaurant jobs (he loves working them after he’s put in his two-week notice) and the complexities of his love for country music. Donning a trucker hat—which, at times, is emblazoned with his own name—and a pair of oversized ’80s glasses, the breakout comedian has appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live and The Tonight Show.

Andy Woodhull is proud to be a stepfather. He is also proud of just how lazy his stepdaughters are. “I could only have dreamt of being that lazy when I was their age!” he cracks. The comedian mines his familial relationships for laughs, spinning yarns about the perplexing difficulties of spousal communication, the frustrating detachment of phone-obsessed teenagers, and the absurdity of flavored bird seed—all with the genial sarcasm of a fully grown Midwestern class clown. Diehard fans will know his albums So Far No Good and Are You Mad at Me? or perhaps for his YouTube series, “The Ultimate Worrier,” which has him donning dayglow facepaint and arm tassels like a ’90s pro wrestler and fretting over everything from the size of his hands to the health consequences of drinking too much coffee. The self-proclaimed Solange of the Rock family, Jordan Rock is the youngest in a line of comedian siblings. Maybe you know his older brother, Chris? Chances are you’ll recognize Jordan if you stop to think about it. He’s appeared in the Judd Apatow-produced Netflix rom-com Love and on FX’s Totally Biased. Over the past few years, he has developed a comedic style distinct from his brother’s: less confrontational and a little more stoned. His jokes come from everyday situations blown up to absurd proportions, like Siri finally talking back one day, or the casual weirdness of a Yahoo email.

Stand-up comedian Chris Porter spoke for millions of self-loathing middle-age dudes in his hit comedy special Ugly & Angry. If you’re a fan of Comedy Central or NBC’s Last Comic Standing, maybe you’ve gotten a taste of his deadpan drollery—“If you wear a toupee, know this: No one’s heard a word you’ve said, ever.” He’s also finds laughs with a cost-benefit analysis of healthy living vs. fun living. That one can be found by Googling his name plus the words “heroin” and “Taco Bell.” Porter performs four shows over three nights at RTF.
