Imagine your high school’s glee club and college improv troupe had a love child—conceived in the back of a van on the way to a show, of course. That just about sums up Broadway’s Next Hit Musical. Audience participation is key to this show, as the crowd is invited to throw out raw song suggestions and watch as the cast cooks up a Tony Award-worthy show tunes on the spot. To reach for another metaphor, it’s a lot like Broadway by way of Benihanas.
