Bob Poole knows them well. Raised in Kenya, the photographer and cinematographer has been capturing these massive mammals since he was a teen. Piggybacking off his six-part National Geographic series, Poole explores the creative environmental organizations and government programs helping preserve these magnificent animals. Both the elephants and their habitat suffered great collateral damage during Mozambique’s civil war, which lasted from 1977 to 1992.
